We last saw Bisser painting the brick walls of London when he was down for our group show Underground 2016, now back in Belgium, his home country, Bisser paints his latest wall on familiar turf. His new wall ‘Smoke signal’ can be found at Frans Vermeylenstraat, Leuven.
“There is no relevance to the location. I took my inspiration out of the wall: the chimney. At first I wanted to do something with the place, because the wall is next to a hospital. But finally I decided to do something with the wall itself” Bisser
Bisser cleverly uses the buildings chimney and paints a scenery providing us an insight into the building. Bisser can be seen often using the buildings structure and incorpricating this into his murals. His wall in London see’s him utilise a window as a camera.
With ‘Smoke signal’ we see a man warming himself up against a roaring fire… the smoke looks at him before being exhaled outside via the chimney. Great imagination from Bisser as always.
