The 20x21EUG Mural Project is an initiative of the City of Eugene Cultural Service’s Public Art Program to create 20 or more world-class outdoor murals in Eugene between now and the 2021 IAAF World Championships. This is the first time the World Championships will be held in the United States.
The concept of a large scale public art project such as 20x21EUG came from Isaac Marquez, Public Art Manager for the City of Eugene in 2016 and has continued into 2017 with Chinese street artist Hua Tunan, the Godfather of Stencil Art, Blek le Rat and now Hush.

Currently residing in London, Hush’s style draws upon elements of Japanese influence, including anime and geishas.

His approach combines traditional artistic techniques and street art style, creating a dynamic blend of graphic elements and abstract pop.

During the 20x21EUG Mural Project’s street art festival, Eugene Walls, the artist painted two of his famous geishas on the east wall of Falling Sky Brewing House & Gastropub, providing a rich pop of blue and graphic elements to the tan wall.

The graphic designs on the geisha’s clothes were laser-cut in his studio and mailed to Eugene prior to his arrival in town.

He started with a blank slate and using projections, outlined the future mural before spending several days in the heat creating this phenomenal masterpiece.

In 2021, the project will be the focus of an exhibition at the University of Oregon’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.
