Saype returns to Villars-sur-Ollon, Chamossaire 2023

We last saw French-Swiss artist Saype with his land art painting “Vers l’équilibre” at the summit of Grand Chamossaire in 2022, now Saype is expanding his range of works by adding two new ephemeral giant eco-responsible landart paintings in Villars-sur-Ollon (CH) at Le Grand Chamossaire and Col de Bretaye.

Both artworks were created using natural organic pigments made out of charcoal and chalk.

In this idyllic setting, many magnificent views of the Dents du Midi, the Mont Blanc massif and Lake Geneva.

Perched on mountain slopes, two children draw the immensity of the world, each from their own point of view. Depicting a world above and below, day and night, celestial and terrestrial, their childlike sketches respond to each other, suggesting the complementarity of opposites.

This work poetically conveys the idea that a common world can only emerge from the sharing of differences and the multiplication of perspectives rather than from the uniformity that threatens the originality of each child.

The young boy land art is titled “Le soleil a rendez-vous avec la lune” and is 2700 m² 46°19’42.60″N 7°3’48.09″E. The young girl land art is titled “Le soleil a rendez-vous avec la lune” and is 2700 m² 46°19’23.00″N 7°4’34.71″E

The aim of these paintings, which are destined to fade away, is to impact mentalities in a way that respects nature.
