Discovered in 1820 on the Greek island of Milos, this iconic statue has captivated audiences for over two centuries. It now resides in the Louvre Museum, representing timeless beauty and artistic mastery. PichiAvo’s mural not only reinterprets this classic in a contemporary context but also celebrates the vibrant spirit of São Paulo’s street art culture.

The mural’s creation was a collaborative effort, with local graffiti artists Caps, Teor, Vetor, Humano, and Calle contributing their talents. Their involvement showcased the cultural significance of pichação, a distinctive art form rooted in Brazil’s urban landscape. This fusion of styles has enhanced the mural, bridging the gap between traditional art and contemporary urban expressions.

Commissioned by the NaLata Festival, directed by Luan Cardoso, this project marks a significant step in São Paulo’s ongoing evolution as a global art destination. The mural not only beautifies the bustling Largo da Batata square but also fosters community engagement and appreciation of the arts.
