Joachim
Joachim, a dynamic Belgian artist, has spent a lifetime immersed in the world of creativity. His artistic journey began at a young age, sparked by the vibrant graffiti he encountered while riding trams with his grandmother. This early exposure to street art ignited a passion that would shape his entire career. From the very beginning, painting has been an integral part of Joachim’s existence; he cannot recall a time when he wasn’t expressing himself through art.

His work includes striking murals and large-scale pieces that transform urban landscapes into vibrant stories. It was only later in his artistic evolution that he turned to oil paints, a transition inspired by a cherished paintbrush gifted by his grandmother. Since that pivotal moment, he has dedicated himself to his craft, finding inspiration in every facet of life. Every day, Joachim rises with a relentless drive to paint. His creativity is fueled by everything he encounters—from the serene moments at home to the profound emotions he experiences, even the simplest scenes from a film. He absorbs the world around him and translates his dreams onto canvas, creating art that resonates deeply with viewers. Joachim’s art is a reflection of his life—a vivid tapestry woven from the experiences and inspirations he encounters daily. Driven by passion and an unwavering commitment to paint, he continues to speak to the world, one painting at a time.
Joachim is widely recognized in the area for his artwork “The Queen of Cats,” located in Pallant, which drew considerable attention before it was unfortunately painted over. Rather than being discouraged by this challenge, he saw it as a chance to return to Chichester and create the mural “The Watch Dog.” In doing so, he successfully raised funds for the Chichester Boys Club, featuring an impressive XL dog artwork.
Urban artists are transforming our urban landscapes with their incredible work. Each mural tells a story, a reflection of community, culture, and individuality. Let’s continue to appreciate and support these talented artists as they inspire us with their unique visions. We are living in a urban art movement, keep your eyes open for the art that surrounds you, and let it spark your own creativity!
