BK Foxx’s latest mural, “Grace,” located in Miami’s Wynwood district, serves as a beautiful tribute to compassion, care, and connection. The mural portrays Meredith, a nurse who holds a special place in BK Foxx’s heart.

Meredith was among the dedicated nurses who provided care to BK Foxx’s father during his challenging battles with cancer in the ICU at LIJ hospital, prior to his passing. Her unwavering commitment and kindness made a lasting impression on both BK Foxx and her father. He valued all the nurses and doctors who cared for him, but he formed a special bond with Meredith, who provided him with the most support. This mural stands as a heartfelt tribute to the selfless spirit of healthcare professionals.

BK FOXX writes
“Dear Meredith… We were so lucky to meet and are eternally grateful for this group of people from the hospital who came to love my father and treated him like he was the most important person. Whether or not it was their job, they went so above and beyond for us, and it gave us three and a half more months with him that we never would have had. My father was the kind of person who, even in dying, could form new (and lasting) relationships. I miss him terribly and the only thing I can do is hold on to all the people who appreciated him. Thank you so much many times over.”
The mural is particularly special because Meredith is also a recipient of the Daisy Award, an honour recognising extraordinary carers who have gone above and beyond in their roles. This award is a celebration of the exceptional care that they provide, and it symbolises the gratitude and recognition that healthcare workers deserve for their love and compassion, especially during challenging times.

Adding another layer to this tribute is the name “Daisy,” which BK Foxx and her father affectionately use the name, serving as a beautiful link between the artist and Meredith, with the daisy award.
BK Foxx’s mural invites us to reflect on our own lives and the caregivers and daily heroes who make a difference, encouraging us all to recognise and appreciate the beauty in those who go that extra mile to care for us.
