Mordi Village Transformed: A Look at the New Murals from the Wall to Wall Festival, Melbourne

The Mordialloc street art precinct is an initiative that has transformed a neglected urban area into an arts and cultural precinct. Curated by Shaun Hossack of Juddy Roller, in collaboration with Wall to Wall, Kingston Council, Kingston Arts, and Mordi Village Trader, this project aimed to highlight the transformative power of street art.

In April 2024, the Mordialloc street art precinct saw Australia’s top street artists, such as Smug, Adnate, Celeste Mountjoy (creator of Filthy Ratbag), and George Rose, along with acclaimed international artists Berlin-based Blo and French artist Zoer, adorn the area with their unique styles and perspectives. This breathed new life into Mordialloc’s industrial laneways, bringing in a new era of artistic innovation and cultural revival for the city. Catch up here.

Mordi Village has enjoyed a recent addition of stunning murals to its open-air gallery for the second year, all thanks to the Wall to Wall Festival that took place last weekend! The streets are now alive with large-scale artworks that enhance the area while embodying the spirit of street art and community engagement.

This year invited artists included Drez, Adnate, Sofles, Ellen Porteous, Lauren YS, and Minna Leunig. From the intricate detailing on a vintage Porsche 911 to the breathtaking murals painted across the walls, each piece conveys a distinct narrative, beautifully intertwining street culture with artistic expression.

These new murals bring a fresh energy to Mordi Village—If you’re in the area be sure to check them out and experience the stunning murals for yourself!
