A powerful sculptural interpretation of Banksy’s Stop and Search mural from Palestine, this work depicts a young girl searching an armed soldier, reversing familiar ideas of military authority, surveillance and control. The central Banksy image unfolds across five monumental wall panels surrounded by individual graffiti and painted markings, giving the miniature the atmosphere of a genuine section of the Bethlehem barrier. Created for The Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem, the sculpture was acquired directly from the hotel and is accompanied by its official certificate and recorded hotel provenance.
