Mr Doodle Transforms The Shard into a Sky-High DoodleWorld
British artist Mr Doodle has transformed Level 69 of The View from The Shard into an intricate hand-drawn world, covering windows, floors, tables and unexpected architectural surfaces with his unmistakable network of characters and restless black lines. Titled Doodles with a View, the installation runs from 30 July to 15 October 2026 and is included with every admission ticket to the London viewing gallery.

Drawing Across the London Skyline
Created exclusively for the space, the installation brings the densely populated visual language of Mr Doodle, also known as Sam Cox, into direct conversation with the capital below. His cartoon figures, creatures and looping patterns travel across the viewing gallery’s transparent and reflective surfaces, momentarily interrupting its expansive sightlines with a more intimate and instinctive form of mark-making.
“My dream to doodle The Shard has come true! I’ve created a huge doodle takeover at The View from the Shard! Doodles With A View is now open and is free to experience with every admission ticket!”
The location gives the project its particular energy. From Level 69, London appears ordered into streets, towers, bridges and intersecting systems. Mr Doodle responds with another kind of city, one constructed from spontaneous lines and tightly connected characters. The resulting installation places his imagined DoodleWorld against the architecture and movement of the real metropolis.

The Shard as a Living Canvas
Mr Doodle has built an international practice around the compulsive occupation of surfaces, moving from sketchbooks and canvases to vehicles, buildings and the now-famous Doodle House. At The Shard, this impulse reaches a striking architectural scale, while remaining rooted in the immediacy of drawing by hand.
The installation also rewards movement. Visitors encounter illustrated floors beneath their feet, playful interventions across tables and drawings framed by changing views of London. As daylight fades and the city begins to illuminate, reflections mingle with the artwork, allowing its characters to appear suspended across the skyline.
For an artist whose stated ambition is to doodle the world, taking over London’s highest viewing gallery feels like a natural ascent. The city becomes both backdrop and collaborator, while The Shard, one of its most recognisable vertical landmarks, becomes a temporary portal into DoodleLand.
