As Friday morning rose over the tranquil town of Tenterden, Mr Doodle began his monumental task of doodling a train onto the side of a historic railway car. With his signature style and boundless creativity, he brought the locomotive to life, covering every inch with fun characters and bold patterns. Passersby and local residents gathered to watch the transformation unfold, marvelling at the live doodle creation.

Mr Doodle, the renowned artist known for his intricate doodles and unique creative expression, recently made his mark on the picturesque town of Tenterden in Kent. As part of a special collaboration with the Kent and East Sussex Railway, Mr Doodle embarked on a project that combined his love for doodling with the iconic charm of the local railway.

Tenterden, nestled in the heart of the Kent countryside, is not only home to the Kent and East Sussex Railway but also where Mr Doodle’s famous Doodle House is located. This made the collaboration a perfect fit – a celebration of art, community, and the rich heritage of the region.
“I am very happy to be doodling a railway carriage! It’s the first time my drawings have appeared on a vehicle of this size. It’s going to be so fun! It’s especially nice that it’s all happening in my hometown, I hope everyone will enjoy it!“

The project seamlessly integrated art and everyday life, as the train adorned with Mr Doodle’s artwork would soon become a moving canvas, travelling through the idyllic Kentish countryside. This fusion of art and locomotion captured the essence of Tenterden’s spirit—a place where history, creativity, and innovation converge.

Visitors to Tenterden can now embark on a journey through the lush landscapes of Kent aboard the “Doodle Carriage,” immersing themselves in the wonderful world of Mr. Doodle’s imagination. The train, a moving work of art, has become a must-see attraction for both locals and tourists, drawing attention to Mr Doodle’s hometown, Tenterden and its surroundings.
Knowle, their wonderful Terrier locomotive, will be pulling the Doodle carriage over the weekend of Saturday the 27th & Sunday the 28th of July 2024, with the first departure at 11:25 am!
The Doodle carriage will be joining the passenger service throughout the August Summer Holiday.
