Tomás João, also known as Nature the Artist, embarked on his artistic journey in 2016, immersing himself in painting, photography, video, and street installations. His deep reverence for nature has been the cornerstone of his creative expression from the very beginning, with the natural world serving as a wellspring of inspiration for his art.

In the early stages of his artistic evolution, Nature the Artist’s work bore the unmistakable imprint of his surroundings and he was known for his provocative work under the name “Forest Dump” .

However, a pivotal moment led him to relinquish the role of the primary creator, embracing a philosophy in which nature assumes the role of the protagonist, transcending human authorship. Nature the Artist’s oeuvre serves as a mirror reflecting the natural phenomena inherent in caves, forests, seas, and beyond.
