Paco Pomet

Paco Pomet is a Spanish contemporary painter born in Granada in 1970, where he continues to live and work. Known for transforming vintage photographs into surreal and darkly humorous scenes, he combines realist painting with unexpected distortions, cartoon-like interventions and moments of visual absurdity. Working predominantly in muted or monochrome palettes, Pomet creates images that initially resemble historical photographs before revealing strange disruptions beneath the surface. His paintings explore memory, violence, humour and the instability of representation, often drawing on cinema, comics and popular culture.
