Ricardo Romero is a Portuguese multidisciplinary artist based in Leiria, known for work spanning painting, sculpture, photography, video, installation and public art. Born in Évora in 1981, he first emerged through graffiti and muralism under the name Ship, using urban art as a vehicle for education, community engagement and social exchange. Over the past decade, Romero has developed a contemplative visual language through his signature process, “Romerography”, combining layering, interruption and absence to explore memory, silence and perception. Alongside his studio practice, he curates public-art initiatives including Projeto Matilha and directs Walls Gallery and M Gallery & Studio in Leiria.
