The lowdown on TOX
London
Daniel Halpin, known as Tox, is a British graffiti artist whose unique tag chronicles his personal journey. He fearlessly tags the London Underground, including abandoned tunnels—nowhere is off-limits.
His nonconformity has garnered a loyal following, but also led to his conviction for criminal damage in June 2011 and subsequent imprisonment.
During his trial, Prosecutor Hugo Lodge mocked his style. Yet, Tox earned respect from Banksy, who referenced him in a street piece that same year.
Today, Tox is shifting his focus toward creating work in the studio, merging his street credibility with other art forms and canvases.
