Add Fuel just recently finished his latest mural for FALU Urban Art Festival in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal.
For a tiles and ceramics’ art lover, creating a mural in the city of Caldas da Rainha was both an honour and a tribute for Add fuel.
The mural entitled CALDENSE was inspired by the enormous Bordallo Pinheiro, a famous Portuguese ceramics studio that produces highly collectable tableware. Their nature-inspired designs – such as cabbage plates, frog pitchers and pineapple jugs – feature hand-painted accents. Add Fuel reinterprets the legacy of traditional Caldas ceramics to offer the inhabitants of the city his own tribute.
From the blue of secular tiles to the green of Bordallo cabbages, from the shape of artichokes to one of the decorative pots, from the realistic fauna and flora to the artist’s imaginary creatures,
*caldense:1. the inhabitant of Caldas da Rainha2. what is natural of Caldas da Rainha or made in the city of Caldas da Rainha
This wall, now part of the city wants to be as ‘Caldense’ as each one of its inhabitants.
