Chromadynamica Dimensional for Hangzhou: Felipe Pantone’s Street Sculpture in China

Argentinian-Spanish artist Felipe Pantone is a renowned graffiti contemporary artist known for his vibrant and dynamic art. Pantone’s work is characterised by bold colours, geometric patterns, and kinetic elements, creating an immersive visual experience that challenges viewers’ perception of space and movement.

“Colour only happens because of light, and light is the only reason why life happens” Pantone

Pantone’s art delves into dynamism, transformation, the digital revolution, and themes relevant to contemporary society. It encapsulates the clash between an analog past and a digitized future, where humans and machines coexist in a prism of neon gradients, geometric shapes, optical patterns, and jagged grids. Drawing inspiration from kinetic artists like Victor Vasarely and Carlos Cruz-Diez, Pantone’s modern pieces evoke a sense of vibration as the viewer’s position changes in relation to the artwork.

JIANGNANBUYI

30th Anniversary.

Felipe Pantone’s latest sculpture “Chromadynamica Dimensional for Hangzhou” is an interactive large public installation specifically designed for JIANGNANBUYI 30th Anniversary.

The installation features a diverse selection of durable materials, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship and modernity. Inspired by the speed and aesthetics of contemporary digital society, the work merges digital visual aesthetics like geometric shapes, pixelation, and digital artifacts to restore the tactile value of images created in the digital era. Combining the theme of “Unique by birth, grounded in diversity,” the installation creates a diverse sensory experience through the displacement of colour gradients, allowing colours to collide freely and opening up infinite possibilities for the future.

The circle constituting the “infinity” symbol has been explored for millennia, representing both a speck of gravel and the boundless expanse of the cosmic galaxy.

Pantone experiments with both reflection and the concept of completing a full circle.
