A Community-Driven Project
The Talia mural embodies a collaborative spirit fostered by several neighbourhood organisations united under the platform Sant Antoni recuperem el Talia. This project aims to breathe new life into the walls of the abandoned place where the Teatro Talia once thrived, honouring its historical significance while enriching the community’s surroundings.

Spanning an impressive 785 square metres, the mural transforms two blank walls into a dramatic canvas that pays homage to the theater’s past. Measuring a remarkable 24 metres in height and 23 metres in length, the mural is prominently displayed on the side of the building located at number 102, Avinguda del Paral·lel.

Elisa Capdevila: The Artist Behind the Vision
Elisa Capdevila, born in 1994, is known for her exceptional ability to depict intimate, everyday moments through her art. Her detailed and realistic style delves into deeply human themes, and this mural focuses on a poignant moment: the “end of the performance.” The artwork portrays an actress gently removing her makeup after a show—a moment rich in symbolism that reflects on the closure of Teatro Talia.

The mural embraces a feminist perspective, emphaising the vital roles women have played both in the theatre and within the community’s efforts to reclaim this cherished space. This theme was developed through a participatory process involving local organisations and collaborative workshops that helped shape the mural’s narrative.
