With a total of 60 murals, 200 artists, and 1 million visitors in all its editions so far, the festival has transformed the cultural landscape of Ibiza, traditionally known as a party island, into a vibrant open-air gallery with work of international artists like Okuda, Phlegm, Inti, Interesni Kazki, Said Dokins, Olek, Ben Eine, Spy, Amadama, Bisser, Ino, Appha, Spaik, Malarky, Silva Ramacci, David De La Mano, Pablo Herrero, Helder Cavalcante, and others.

Inspired by the belief that “Art is for everyone,” the festival aims to make art and free, open, and inclusive experiences available to both the inhabitants of Ibiza and the thousands of tourists, so much so that this edition also involves the Municipality of Eivissa, which joins the project’s other institutional partners such as the Autonomous Community Isles Baleares and the Consell de Eivissa.

The protagonist of this 2024 edition is the artist Amadama with the events ‘Let’s Get Physical’ and ‘Open-Air.Expo’. Amadama (@iamamamadama) is a contemporary artist known for her ability to fuse traditional art with emerging technologies. Known for her interactive works, Amadama has gained international recognition for her innovative approach to urban art. In addition to her work at BLOOP Festival, Amadama is also the creator of VIP IS A LOSER CONCEPT at the iconic Pikes Ibiza. This installation challenges notions of exclusivity and accessibility in art.

Behind the scenes, a Milan-based creative agency, Biokip Labs, in collaboration with artists like Amadama, has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life. What makes this year’s festival particularly exciting is its focus on art and technology.

‘We are very proud to have been selected among the best festivals in the world.’ Says Matteo mind of Biokip Labs ‘Bloop Festival is considered among the best cultural and tourism marketing projects given the important results it has brought to Ibiza in terms of visibility and target audience expansion. We would like to celebrate its fifteenth anniversary with the creation of an artistic itinerary involving tourist sites in the Mediterranean’.

The official BLOOP app, developed by Biokip Labs, offers visitors an immersive experience using an interactive GPS map and access to augmented reality content. This allows visitors to explore urban art sites in real-time and gain detailed information about the works on display. The app allows for interactive participation in the festival, with the opportunity to win exclusive prizes in the form of NFTs by taking and sharing photographs through the app. The festival’s emphasis on technology not only enhances the overall visitor experience but also showcases how art and technology can work hand in hand to create engaging and interactive cultural events. It’s a testament to the evolving nature of art in the digital age, as artists like Amadama bring traditional art forms and emerging technologies together.

‘Art and technology are the winning key available to administrations to increase quality tourism,’ continues Matteo. ’The Bloop project with its app demonstrates that not only is it possible to experience the art exhibition fully, thanks to the interactive map, but through augmented reality you can see the murals up close and get information such as the year, name and information about the artist with artificial intelligence. The tool we created makes it possible to play games during the artistic journey and to receive information about the island’s tourist spots.’

As we look ahead to the 14th anniversary of the BLOOP International Festival of Proactive Art, it’s clear that the festival has set the bar high for cultural and tourism marketing projects. Its fusion of art, technology, and inclusivity has not only redefined the cultural landscape of Ibiza but has also paved the way for a new era of interactive and rewarding art experiences.
