HKwalls returns 2016

Hong Kong’s annual street art festival HKwalls returns in 2016 for a weeklong celebration of creativity, individuality and ingenuity from March 21 – 27. With a shared ethos and passion for community engagement, HKwalls partners with Vans to further their mission and create opportunities for local and international talent.

This year, the festival relocates to Sham Shui Po, an area rooted in heritage and diversity. “HKwalls is a people’s festival. Sham Shui Po embraces grassroots and entrepreneurial spirits, just as we do, The culture, the interesting people, the history and architecture all serve as inspiration to our artists.”  Jason Dembski HKwalls co- founder

Featured artists this year include Okudart (Spain), Peeta (Italy), Suiko (Japan), Colasa (Taiwan), Clog (Singapore), Zids (Thailand), KristopherH (HK), and Faust (USA). More artists will be announced in the coming weeks.

The festival will kick-off on March 21. Throughout the week, HKwalls offers an alternative to the various happenings during Art Week, and drives the focus to the streets of Sham Shui Po for an inclusive and inspiring celebration of street culture.

Apart from the festival, Vans will organize the House of Vans to celebrate the 50th Anniversary featuring art exhibitions, workshops and street market in Sham Shui Po from Mar 16 – Apr 3, 2016.
