The latest mural painted on a repurposed historic building features MOMO’s signature style, characterised by these geometric compositions and layered visuals that echo the sensation of digital art. His work often employs a distinct mechanical logic, shaped by the self-made tools he invents, which adds a unique dimension to each piece.
In reflecting on his recent mural project, Momo shares a glimpse into his experience whilst painting.
“A painting for a well done repurposed historic building project, happening near my studio @utwjax. It was great talking with locals walking by. One guy said he knew I was a “bad man” because I paint also at night. No one was needing to know what’s it represents, or is going to be, or what’s the theme. They just thought it looked great, wow. That’s a rare and cool experience.” MOMO (Instagram)
One of the most fascinating and enjoyable aspects of MOMO’s art is his playful manipulation of colour theory. In Jacksonville, the literally mural bounces with strong hues, clean lines, and a sophisticated colour palette. The result is a striking piece that invites interaction and reflection, allowing passersby to connect with the art in a meaningful way.
