This weekend, 19th to 21st October, Festival Iminente returns to London, once again invading The Old Truman Brewery at Brick Lane. A three-day festival of explosive and experimental Portuguese and international art and music, Festival Iminente brings the soul of Lisbon to the heart of London.
The festival, curated by Portuguese street artist Vhils combines urban art and music, and this year’s festival will see the unveiling of a visual artwork from world renowned DJ, Fatboy Slim. A multimedia collaboration with Vhils, the work combines video and music and was created in a cultural exchange that saw each artist visit each other’s studios in Lisbon and Brighton.
“I am honoured to collaborate with such a global cultural icon, whose music has been the soundtrack to our lives. Fatboy Slim is a fearless and visionary artist much loved in the Portuguese-speaking world. He played an unannounced DJ set at the sell-out Festival Iminente in Lisbon in September to an ecstatic crowd and I can’t wait to unveil this artwork to a British audience.” Vhils
Music acts include THE ALCHEMIST (USA), SIOBHAN BELL (UK), BLACK MILK AND NAT TURNER BAND (USA), SMOKE DZA (USA), BRANKO (PT), ALLEN HALLOWEEN (PT) and SAM THE KID (PY).
Throughout the venue, you will find the most varied pieces by the following artists: VHILS X FATBOY SLIM COLLAB (UK), ADD FUEL (PT), ANDRÉ SARAIVA (PT), ANTONY LISTER (AUS), BERRU COLLECTIVE (PT), D*FACE (UK), FELIPE PANTONE (PT), MAIS MENOS (PT), PHOMER (PT), OKUDA (ES), PICHIAVO (ES), ROBERT PANDA (PT), SHEPARD FAIREY AKA OBEY (USA), THE EMPTY BELLY (PT), WASTED RITA (PT) and WK INTERACT (FR).
