Pahnl’s – Missed A Bit Print: Behind the scenes

We are pleased to announce that one of the most talked about pieces from our Underground 2016 group show will be released soon as a screen print.

Paying homage to neo-plasticist Mondrian, UK street artist Pahnl has revisited ‘Composition II in Red, Blue, and Yellow’, a geometric classic from 1930, and brought it into 2016 with his own little spin.

Staying true to the minimalistic concept of the Dutch painter, Pahnl has wryly named this piece ‘Missed A Bit’ … I guess that’s what Mondrian would have said!?!

‘Missed A Bit’, a limited edition screen print of only 40, is getting released on Wednesday, 2nd November 2016, at 15:00 GMT, 16:00 CET and 11:00 EDT.

“I Think that the destructive element is too much neglected in art.” Piet Mondrian

You can find out more on how the print was screen printed by Pahnl by watching our behind the scenes footage.

This is the first in the three-part series by Pahnl. Pahnl revisited three all time classics and gave them a twist,  An Escher, Hokusai and Mondrian.

“Going to have builders looking quizzically at Escher’s trippy stairs, a man in an inflatable ring floating in Hokusai’s turbulent seas and painters on scaffolding rolling Mondrian’s coloured squares on.” Pahnl
