French-Swiss artist Saype has once again left his mark on the world with the latest instalment of his ambitious project ‘Beyond Walls’.
The artist, known for his larger-than-life land art installations, recently completed Step 20 of the ‘Beyond Walls project at the iconic Great Pyramids of Giza in Cairo, Egypt. This monumental artwork spans an impressive 900 square metres!

What sets Saype’s work apart is not just its sheer scale but also the materials used in its creation. The artist employs biodegradable pigments made from charcoal and chalk, underscoring his commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness.

The ‘Beyond Walls’ project, initiated in Paris in 2019, has now advanced through 20 steps, reaching Egypt. This ongoing project conveys a powerful message of interconnectedness, with a continuous human chain connecting countries and continents. Inspired by the belief that the world is divided, Saype emphasises, “I am deeply convinced that it is together that humanity will be able to face the various challenges it must overcome.” This conviction gave rise to the desire to spread a positive message of mutual support and global collaboration, symbolically forming the largest human chain ever created.

The Great Pyramids of Giza, with their timeless grandeur, serve as a fitting backdrop for Saype’s latest masterpiece. The artist deliberately chose this iconic location not only for its beauty but also because it symbolises eternity.
