Description
The print “Getting Through The Walls,” created in 2008 through the collaboration of Blek Le Rat and Sybille Prou, is a C-type photographic print on Fuji Crystal archival paper. This print is from a photograph of the stencil “The Man Who Walks through the Walls” in Leipzig taken by his wife Sybille Prou. The image also features on the front cover of the book “Getting Through The Walls,” which was co-authored by Blek le Rat’s wife, Sybille Prou, et al.
The image is Blek le Rat’s most iconic character, “The Man Who Walks through the Walls”, a self-portrait of himself on the body of Buster Keaton, one of the artist’s favourite actors. This character is depicted as a man who travels, resembling a cosmopolitan migrant who “walks” through the walls from one city to another; this stencil can be found on the streets worldwide; the image exhibits his lifestyle and mission to spread his art far and wide.
