Our Aussie blogger Jess is back Down Under catching some sunshine for a few months and snapping up the street art goods to share with us!
Kootoomba is a rural town in New South Wales, securing it’s fame as being the door to the ionic Australian Blue Mountains. The Aboriginal named town means ‘Shining falling water,’ which everyone can appreciate, with its incredible mountain scenery, waterfalls and rock formations, just a few miles drive away. But something else shines in Kootoomba. Something down a side alley way that even I, almost missed on my recent exploration!
Street Art Murals Australia (SAMA) alongside with local and state supporters, have created an incredible showcase of street art, using all aerosol techniques, from artists across this great wide world.
Only three years young, the Street Art Walk has been supported by the local community to bring about what art aims to bring- beauty, opportunity and appreciation.
You only have to look through these images to see how much they have achieved…
So, raise your cans up my friends; To the natural beauty of Australia that Kootoomba invites, and the man- made beauty of art that Kootoomba heartens.
