Bisser’s “Migration” Copper Etching Print: Behind the scenes 2018

We are proud to announce that Bisser’s first copper etching print “Migration” is being released on Wednesday 7th November 2018.

“Migration” has been lovingly created using copper plate etching. This traditional form of intaglio printmaking captures the true spirit of the artist and delivers an immensely beautiful crisp quality, that Etching masters before him, Rembrandt and Goya, also enjoyed within their artistic journey.

Copper etching has always been regarded as a mysterious proceeding, and through print master AtelierJI’s Peter Bennett’s wisdom and experience Bisser was skilfully guided to create a wonderfully personal aesthetic, incorporating the illusion of depth and emotion within the piece.

Bisser’s imaginative animals take centre stage on the print and tackles the very nature of “Migration”. The results are aesthetically pleasing and the creative process satisfied Bisser’s curiosity about this age-old medium.

“In my etching the migratory animals help transport the humans on the long journey of migration. Both species have to move to survive, to thrive. Contrary to real life where humans are in charge, my etching allows Nature to take the lead, from the instinctive animals, to the flow of the river and the direction of the wind.” Bisser
