Ella and Pitr Back in Stavanger Norway 2016

Following the overwhelming success of Ella and Pitr’s collaboration with Nuart Festival in 2015, the much-loved French couple returned to Stavanger recently to leave their mark across the region once again.

French based artists Ella & Pitr specialise in creating large-scale murals of fairytale-like characters. Their playful and poignant artworks have brought them international acclaim, and can be found on rooftops, runways, houses, shipping containers and even entire fields. Here are their latest murals on the streets of Stavanger.

They ventured out to Ølbergstranden beach on the outskirts of Stavanger to wheat paste artwork onto the old German-built World War II bunker. They paste broken hearts onto the Bunkers, representing how war tears hearts apart.

Local photographer and ‘aurora chaser’ Brian Tallman has captured the artwork by Ella & Pitr in stunning detail during a recent display of the Aurora Borealis phenomenon, the Northern lights in Norway.

Then Ella and Pitr play with light inside for a photo shoot.

Despite being based in St Etienne, France, Ella & Pitr are fast becoming local favourites and already plan to return to Stavanger in mid-August to continue their Nordic love affair.
