A particularly dramatic Walled Off Hotel sculpture, Sling Shot Rat recreates Banksy’s Palestine mural across a fractured section of barrier, its broken concrete, exposed reinforcement and defiant rat giving the work an exceptional physical presence. Hand-painted words including “FREEDOM”, “THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE”, “PEACE” and “LOVE”surround the image, bringing together resistance, optimism and Banksy’s distinctive street language. Created for The Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem, the sculpture was acquired directly from the hotel and is accompanied by its official certificate and recorded hotel provenance.
