One of the most poetic Walled Off Hotel sculptures, Window on the West Bank recreates Banksy’s celebrated Palestine imagery of an impossible window opening through the concrete barrier onto an idyllic mountain landscape. Armchairs, curtains and a small table create an intimate interior against the severity of the wall, while the painted words “FREEDOM” and “LOVE” heighten its meditation on confinement, hope and the desire to see beyond physical borders. Created for The Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem, the sculpture was acquired directly from the hotel and is accompanied by its official certificate and recorded hotel provenance.
