The Futurism Primitivism Modular Sculpture is a collaborative artwork by Spanish urban artist Spidertag and GraffitiStreet, first presented in Chichester in 2024. It translates the artist’s neon symbols into a flexible work for interior space. Combining modular design, illuminated geometry and the contrast between light and darkness, the sculpture can be adapted through different symbols, colours and arrangements.

About Spidertag
Spidertag is a Spanish urban artist known for his Interactive Neon Murals (INM#), a numbered international series combining geometry, light, architecture and public participation. Since 2008, his practice has developed from temporary thread interventions and electroluminescent street works into large-scale neon murals, sculpture and works on paper.
His visual language, described as Futurism Primitivism, brings together elemental symbols, abstraction and contemporary technology. The Futurism Primitivism Modular Sculpture translates this language from public architecture into a flexible artwork designed for interior space.

Presenting the Futurism Primitivism Modular Sculpture
The Futurism Primitivism Modular Sculpture is constructed from 50 cm square black acrylic panels, each featuring a bespoke illuminated symbol designed by Spidertag. The contrast between neon light and the dark surface draws directly from the visual language of his street murals, translating it into a modular artwork for interior space.
Each panel is produced using LED strip lighting set into recycled acrylic. The result is a precise, minimalist sculpture that can sit confidently within contemporary interiors while creating a deliberate contrast in more traditional settings.

GraffitiStreet’s collaboration with a specialist English production company enables Spidertag’s designs to be realised with precision, technical expertise and close attention to finish. Each component is produced to meet the practical and aesthetic requirements of the final sculpture.
Design Flexibility
The modular structure allows the sculpture to be configured in multiple formats, from compact 1 × 3 arrangements to larger grids such as 2 × 4, 6 × 4 or 10 × 4. Panels can also be arranged in more individual compositions, enabling collectors and interior designers to respond to the scale and character of a particular space.
Each module is interconnected discreetly from the reverse, allowing the complete sculpture to operate from a single power outlet. The panels are available with either a black or white finish.

The Futurism Primitivism Modular Sculpture by Spidertag x GraffitiStreet made its debut at the opening of GraffitiStreet X: A DECADE in Chichester on 22 November 2024.
For this artist proof, Spidertag selected three symbols arranged in a 1 × 3 grid, each paired with its own neon colour. The resulting composition offers a direct expression of the artist’s visual language while demonstrating the modular system’s potential for larger, bespoke configurations.

Individual Modular Panels
Spidertag’s individual modular panels can be displayed as standalone works or interconnected to form a larger, cohesive sculpture. Each panel carries its own symbol and meaning while contributing to a broader visual language when combined with others.
Collectors and interior designers can choose from a palette including Cool White, Warm White, Red, Orange, Lemon Yellow, Green, Light Blue, Blue, Purple and Hot Pink. The selected colours can either harmonise with the surrounding interior or create a deliberate contrast, allowing each configuration to respond to its architectural setting.
